JUNE 28th- JULY 1st Come on this 10-12 mile trip and visit two beautiful alpine lakes in the Bitterroot. The trail to Kidney Lake is somewhat challenging and seldom travelled, providing solitude and incredible views! Trip Outline: DAY 1: Preparation and Camas Lake - Meet at trailhead and prepare for the trip. -Depart by 10am -Hike and camp at Camas Lake (3 miles & 1300ft elevation gain) DAY 2: Hike to Kidney Lake - Enjoy a hearty breakfast and pack up camp. Prepare for stream crossing. - Hike to Kidney Lake (3 miles-300ft elevation loss, then 1000ft elevation gain) - Enjoy the solitude of the lake and hot food by a fire. DAY 3: RELAX ALL DAY - Enjoy the full day at kidney lake and take an optional adventure across the lake to visit the waterfall! -Relax, eat fresh bread, hot food, delicious snacks, and enjoy the beauty of the one of the hidden gems of the Bitterroot. DAY 4: Head out! -Pack up camp and head out mid-morning. (5 miles and 1800ft elevation loss) -Arrive to the trailhead by 2pm. -Head back to your lodging and join us for a provided dinner at a local brewery! The cost of this trip includes: -Lightweight Backpacking gear - Hammock or Tent sleeping set-up -Sleep system (sleeping bag, pad, and/or underquilt) -Cook system + dishes/utensils -Gourmet backpacking meals, snacks, and fresh bread -Medical & Emergency supplies (map and compass included) -Bear spray and Bear Bag/Can -Water filter -Waterproof ditty bag for small items -Trowel All of the other items you will need to bring are included on a detailed list emailed after booking!
